First, I need to say that HIP#1 isn't finished. I needed to work on another muscle group, plus it was the last day of Spring Break for the Jr Millionaire's. So. We painted. My new buddy, Karin, assisted me with paint choices. If not for her, today would have been disastrous.
When we moved in both the kitchen, dining area and hallway from the garage were all painted in the same mauve gloss/flat "stripe." I usually like the look, but the color just wasn't going to work for the decor I already own. Plus? The color combo has been in my head for several years now and I am quite relieved to have it outside my brain. Finally some freed up creative space.
Blah, blah. I'll spare more boring details and get to the nitty gritty: photos of the transformation. (I've just realized after posting all these that I need to be a bit more organized about my before and after shot angles. Sigh.)
The shitty kitty is the most patient little bugger I've ever seen. He sat like this for several minutes, and then jumped up on various pieces of furniture throughout the day to watch from different angles. Kudos to the Jr. Millionaire kids for stepping up the plate and working hard. They have really learned a lot in the last few years about how to work, responsibility and accountability. I'm really proud of them!
Note: kids have no crappy clothes to paint in! They are wearing the oldest, too small things they could find which ended up being pj bottoms and old t-shirts.
By the time we finished it was dark; the aqua is much more vivid in the daylight. Once the DragonViking ship is replaced, we won't get the pool reflections any more.
That's my babe! He rocks. The Millionaire hates to paint after years of no assistance, but now he has plenty of help! We're making new memories and really making this OURS. I'm sure having that cool sweatband doesn't hurt either. Now we only have the rest of the house to go.
