My husband's wedding ring finally arrived today. When I called him to tell him he said "I can't wait to put it on and show the whole world we're married. Thanks for giving me a reason to buy a $XXX.XX piece of jewelry. I love you"
I'm definitely in some nesting/storing for the winter phase. Today I made baked chicken - one for a nice dinner, and two to make my own chicken stock from the pieces parts* and leftover chicken to freeze. It turned out to be much easier than I expected, although it took longer than I anticipated.
Oh, and the kitty was mighty curious. So curious he forgot to spin all around in panic at being held upside down in the air. (Damn my husband's hands are hot!)
Chicken sans kitty
*Pieces parts - some random terminology from an ancient commerical. I no longer remember what it is, but I still say it from time to time.
I don't like to shop for purses because I am picky about the size and the strap length. I also have to have something big enough to easily carry my huge ass camera. (I don't like carrying a camera bag, but that's another story altogether) It's been an embarrassingly long time since I bought a new handbag. I saw one that caught my eye recently so I figured I should buy it while I was still in the mood.
It is pretty much perfect for me - the main compartment has a zipper, a cell pocket and a small zippered pocket. The two outer pockets are open, which is fine for stuff I need to reach quickly that isn't valuable. I can put my arm through the straps, which I like and it doesn't hang down to my hips like some purses with longer straps. Oh, and the wallet? By some small miracle, a decimal screw up was in my favor and it was a fraction of what I expected to pay.
