TheresaK is my friend and wedding photographer. I got this shot of her and Billy Miller(co-founder of Norton Records), at her request, with her camera at the Ponderosa Stomp in Memphis, May 06. She was thrilled to hang out with the Millionaire and me on our wedding day. As I said before I won't be posting any wedding photos - I didn't pick up a camera the entire day!
Yep, more pictures of the missing cat. A few people reported sightings, and we may have found someone else's lost cat, but still no sign of our sweet kitty. I just hope he is having a big adventure instead of having his head run over by a car.
He's still gone. I am still sad that he is missing, but I am resigned that we may not see him again. Several well intentioned people from our neighborhood have called to see if we found our kitty yet, and to offer us encouragement. I'm blown away by the kindness of strangers.
I can't remember if I have posted this pic before but I like it. Live with that. 
Our beloved kitty has been missing for 2 days. It is very unlike him even to go outside for more than a few hours without "checking in". I am fearing the worst. This photo was taken the morning he disappeared.

In April 1968 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was in Memphis to support the sanitation workers strike. Dr. King was staying in a small hotel in downtown Memphis, the Lorraine Hotel, a popular spot for famous blacks to stay while in Memphis. Also, a favorite hang out for STAX artists. (See how it is all fitting together?) It was raining the day we stopped by for photos so all you get is this brilliant blue door.

This barber shop sits across the street from STAX. It is representative of the neighborhood that spawned Memphis' headquarters of soul. Next to the barber shop you can see the tattered remains of Memphis Slim's house, slated for "renovations coming soon" since at least April '06. 
My new husband (a few days before we made it official) holding one of the studio mics at Sun, purportedly used since the 50's. Yep, that means a whole host of famous lips (besides the Millionaire's) have touched that mic.
We spent our wedding night at a beautiful Bed and Breakfast in an historic home on Beale Street. After having to cancel the wedding we had planned there, the folks at Hunt -Phelan were generous enough to credit us our deposit for other services. I cannot recommend the staff, facilities, food and services of the Hunt-Phelan home highly enough. It was the single best customer service experience I have ever had; of course I was wearing a wedding dress.
